آموزش گرامر as … as

یکی از قواعد گرامری پرکاربرد در زبان انگلیسی، جملات as … as هستند که در مکالمات روزمره انگلیسی هم بسیار استفاده می شوند. جملات as … as برای مقایسه دو موضوع یا حالت استفاده می شوند که در ادامه به طور کامل آموزش شان می دهیم.

فرمول as … as

ما از ساختار as … as به این صورت استفاده می کنیم:

as + adjective/adverb + as

یعنی بین دو as باید یا صفت باشد یا قید.

مثال:

The world’s biggest bull is as big as a small elephant.

The weather this summer is as bad as last year. It hasn’t stopped raining for weeks.

You have to unwrap it as carefully as you can. It’s quite fragile.

Not as … as

از not as … as برای مقایسه دو چیزی که برابر نیستند استفاده می کنیم. مثال:

It’s not as heavy as I thought it would be, actually.

Rory hasn’t grown as tall as Tommy yet.

She’s not singing as loudly as she can.

As … as + possibility

معمولا عبارات احتمال و امکان را به با استفاده از as … as بیان می کنیم. مثال:

Can you come as soon as possible?

Go to as many places as you can.

We got here as fast as we could.

As much as, as many as

وقتی می خواهیم به کمیت و تعداد اشاره کنیم از as much as برای کلمات غیرقابل شمارش (uncountable) استفاده می کنیم و از as many as برای کلمات قابل شمارش (countable) استفاده می کنیم.

نکته: در این حالت، بین as many و as دوم، اسم قرار می گیرد.

مثال:

Greg makes as much money as Mick but not as much as Neil.

They try to give them as much freedom as they can.

There weren’t as many people there as I expected.

همچنین می توانیم از as many as و as much as قبل از عددی که به مقداری زیادی از چیزی اشاره می کند استفاده کنیم:

Scientists have discovered a planet which weighs as much as 2,500 times the weight of Earth.

There were as many as 50 people crowded into the tiny room.
